RANOMAFANA NATIONAL PARK

For people who want to live in  romance and want to please their companion, a tour in a beautiful place is a good way to celebrate Valentine’s day. And Madagascar is indeed a good place to go to. This island is usually called “the red island” but it is only true in a half part. Why? Because you can still see beautiful green places in Madagascar, the eastern part like the Masoala, Marojejy and especially the national park of “Ranomafana”. This park is situated in Fianarantsoa. Created in 1991, It became one of the World heritage site in 2007.

Ranomafana park covers 41 600 ha of rainforest. Especially known for its richness in biodiversity and its thermal center of natural hot water spring. That is why it is called “ranomafana” in Malagasy, referring to the natural spa that has a healing power. Many peolpe come there just to explore this beautiful place or to get rid of their health problem. In this park lives a biodiversity, and many of them are in danger. Some species of lemurs are really threatened and need protection. Apart from lemurs, wild birds about 115 species can be found there. About hundred butterflies and more than 90 amphibians are living in this park. Fish and some species of reptile can be found there too.

It often rains in Ranomafana. Plants such as orchids are found there, these are Bulbophyllum, Aeranthes, Jumellea … If you ever plan to visit this park and spend some days in, do not forget to bring tent and your sleeping bag, you will need them for a little camping. And of course, torch for the nocturnal visit during which other species of amazing fauna will be discovered. Ranomafana is just to do while spending some holidays in Madagascar.
